EMITAÏ
A tale of the resistance of the women, children and old men of a small and backward village to the French colonisers during the war. The action takes place among a tribe who jealousy guard their traditions as a reaction against colonial administration. Europe is at war and needs extra money in the form of taxes; a woman leads the natives in a fight against more taxes, and so begins an awakening of national consciousness.
