Synopsis

A visit to a first-year chemistry class in a secondary school (Wandsworth Comprehensive) , where three pupils' theories as to why copper turns black when heated in air are tested. Intended for science teachers to show how a child's natural curiosity can be encouraged. Includes a sequence on the work of Mrs. C. Hutt in experimental psychology.
