Synopsis

Story of the pursuit of money and marriage by two show girls. Club singers Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw travel to Paris on an ocean liner when Lorelei gets engaged to wealthy Gus. His father disapproves of the match, certain that Lorelei is after Gus's money, and he hires a private detective, Malone, to watch her for any evidence that she is a golddigger. Malone, while falling for Dorothy, does find opportunities to take compromising photos when Lorelei becomes friendly with ageing diamond-mine owner Sir Francis Beekman. Complications involving Lady Beekman's diamond tiara, Malone's roll of film and a very rich little boy passenger lead to a showdown in a Paris courtroom where disguises and revelations lead people to lay their cards on the table.
