SHINJUKU DOROBO NIKKI
A semi-documentary depiction of Shinjuku, Tokyo's equivalent of London's Soho, looselybased around two central characters: Torio Okanoue, who has an almost erotic fascination with books which he feeds by stealing from the recently built Kinokuniya Bookstore, and Suzuki Umeko, the shop's assistant, who begins a relationship with him after she spots him in the store one day.
