Angels with Dirty Faces
Two boys from the slums go down different paths after attempting to break into a boxcar - Rocky, who is caught and sent to Reform School goes on to become a major local criminal and gangster, and Jerry, who goes on to become a priest involved in trying to reclaim youngsters from the area and prevent them becoming criminals. The local youngsters look up to Rocky and idolise and emulate him. Jerry's campaign against racketeers and a corrupt politician put his life in danger, but Rocky kills those plotting against him. Tried and sentenced to death, Jerry persuades Rocky to redeem himself, and the gang of juvenile delinquents from further crime, by feigning cowardice in the electric chair to destroy his heroic image.
