La BATAILLE DES DIX MILLIONS

The battle of the 'Zafra', the sugar harvest which Castro pledged would yield ten million tons in the year 1969/70. The progress of the harvest is narrated by Castro in televised and public appearances which are intercut with workers in the fields and cane factories. At a mass public meeting in July 1970 Castro admits failure and announces that the Battle has been lost but the struggle will continue.
