Duel in the Sun
The story of Pearl, the tempestuous half caste daughter of Scott Chavez. When Scott, the former fiancée of Laura Belle McCanles, is executed for murder, Pearl is sent to Spanish Bit, a cattle empire in south-west Texas belonging to Laura's husband, Senator McCanles. Her arrival causes conflict between the McCanles' sons - Jesse, the refined Harvard graduate lawyer who offers her sincere love, and Lewt, the aimless rebel and callous seducer. Their intertwining relationships ultimately lead to murder and tragedy.
