RABOCHNI POSELOK

Drama. In the years following the Second World War in a Russian factory town, Leonid has returned a hero, but blind. He becomes an alcoholic and drives his wife away from the workers' settlement in which they live, but his young son stays behind to look after him. Helped by his friend, Grisha, Leonid eventually pulls himself together and obtains a job at a factory, which begins to flourish as the years go by. All is well until the factory manager is arrested by the authorities.
