Field of Dreams
A contemporary baseball fantasy. Ray Kinsella, 36 year old farmer, hears a voice in his corn field which, somewhat cryptically, tells him to plough under part of his corn and build a baseball diamond, which will then lead to the return of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson and the rest of the disgraced 1919 Chicago White Sox team.Ray, encouraged by his wife Annie and young daughter Karin, obeys this, and several other, commands from the Voice: Jackson returns, and in resurrecting these ghosts Kinsella is able to rid himself of his regrets about his relationship with his long-dead baseball loving father.
