GEORG ELSER EINER AUS DEUTSCHLAND
A month into World War II and appalled by Hitler and the Nazis, Johann Georg Elser, a clockmaker, decides that Hitler must be assassinated. He meticulously plans the assassination, hiding in the local beer hall to dig a hole in one of the main support pillars, getting a job at a quarry to get access to dynamite and creating the clockwork mechanism needed for a bomb. He plans to set it off when Hitler makes an annual visit to hall, but his love for one of the barmaids causes the plan to fail. In warning her she leaves abruptly, creating suspicion amongst the SS security men, and the two try and flee for the Swiss border.
