Synopsis

Film adaptation of John Le Carre's novel on espionage and glasnost. British publisher Barley Scott Blair meets a Soviet scientist briefly during a trip to Russia. The scientist, Dante, subsequently smuggles a manuscript to him to be published in the West, but it falls into the hands of British Intelligence and Barley is sent to Moscow to track down Dante. His contact is a beautiful Russian called Katya.
