The Ice Runner

A U.S. government agent is caught making a pay-off to the Soviet finance minister in Red Square. He receives a 12 year sentence of hard labour in Siberia. However, on the way to Siberia the train crashes, and the American is able to take on the identity of one of the casualties who is headed for a more lenient detention camp where he prepares to escape and run across the ice into home territory.
