Death and the Maiden
Paulina Escobar is awaiting her husband Gerardo in a remote beach house during a rainstorm in a South American country. His car has broken down but Dr Roberto Miranda, a neighbour, gives him a lift. Paulina soon discovers that Miranda's voice sounds like the voice of the man who blindfolded, tortured and raped her years ago under the toppled fascist regime. Paulina pushes Miranda's car over a cliff and binds him to a chair, seeking revenge.
