- The Good Wife of Tokyo Original
Follows the Japanese pop music performer Kazuko Hohki on a return visit to her native country with her group `Frank Chickens', during which she decides to get married to her English boyfriend to please her mother. She sets out to discover what it takes to a be a "good wife of Tokyo". Her mother, who is a priest with the religion `The House of Development', performs the ceremony. She is also seen performing "perfect reality plate spinning" - a zen demonstration of a happy marriage, counselling a woman whose husband has just committed suicide and leading the early morning laughing practice. The film suggests how women in Japan may be changing.
