SÁTÁNTANGÓ

Seven-hour-plus film about Hungary in 1987. Setting for most of the action is an abandoned agricultural machinery plant in the vast Hungarian plain, where an assortment of deadbeats(incl. three couples and an alcoholic doctor) eke out a hopeless existence. Each is planning some kind of escape. Charismatic Irimias sweeps into town and promises a new life to those willing to chance an exodus to other parts. Film reruns the same events from different characters perspectives.
