A Greek-American filmmaker returns to Greece to make a documentary about pioneers of early Balkan cinema. He learns that three reels of undeveloped film lie in the vaults of the film archive in Sarajevo and determines to find them despite the conflict in Bosnia. His journey through the Balkans to Sarajevo - where he finds the film - provides an exploration of the seeds of the regional conflict.
