Erin Brockovich (2000)

Film details

Cast & Credits

Drama. The film is based on the true story of Erin Brockovich, a divorceé with three children, from a deprived and unschooled background, who instigated an investigation into the water in the area surrounding an electricity plant owned by Pacific Gas & Electricity. The water was found to be contaminated by a chromium rust inhibitor, affecting the health in varying degrees of the people living nearby. Despite the best efforts of the company's lawyers to keep the details hidden, and her own lack of education and experience in legal matters, Brockovich's investigations eventually led to a massive lawsuit against Pacific Gas & Electricity.
