Synopsis

Tells how, during archaeological research on an ancient city of pyramids in Peru, where children were ritualistically buried alive in the foundations, scientists were to prove for the first time that complex pyramid building civilisations arose in the Americas at exactly the same time as the pyramids were being built in Egypt - 1000 years earlier than anyone had previously supposed. Contributors include: Dr Ruth Shady (University of San Marcos, Lima); Prof C C Lamberg-Karlovsky (Harvard University); Dr Ken Feder (Central Connecticut State University); Jonathan Haas (Field Museum, Chicago); Dr Tom Pozorski (University of Texas-Pan American); and Dr Winifred Creamer (Northern Illinois University).
