TV documentary. The story of the Memphis-based record company that was active between 1959 and 1975, and featured among its stable of performers Otis Redding, Sam and Dave, Booker T. & the MGs, Wilson Pickett, and Isaac Hayes.
Other than those names given in the credits, interviewees include Zelma Redding (widow of Otis Redding), Eddie Braddock (Stax promotions director), Dino Woodward (Stax security), Wynn Smith (Union Planters Bank, legal counsel), Tim Whitsett (Stax director of music publishing) and Logan Westbrooks (CBS director of special markets).
