Drama about Jan, a young charismatic priest who, as part of his pastoral duties, devotes his energies to caring for young people with problems, in particular, the drug addicts. His superiors do not approve and he is sent to Rome where shortly afterwards he discovers that he is HIV positive. He withdraws to a monastery where he struggles with his faith and eventually the intolerant attitudes he encounters causes him to leave the order and consider an end to his life. However an encounter with three young travellers gives him hope in a new life.
