The Eagle | BFI | British Film Institute

Set in 140 AD, in Roman Britain. Young centurion Marcus Aquila, the son of the Commander of the Ninth Legion, arrives from Rome to solve the mystery of the the unexplained disappearance of his father and the entire legion in the mountains of Scotland twenty years previously. He crosses Hadrian's Wall into Scotland, accompanied by his British slave Esca on his quest.
