Jim Broadbent introduces Steamboat Bill, Jr.

Charles Reisner’s 1928 film Steamboat Bill, Jr., starring Buster Keaton, is introduced by actor Jim Broadbent. Broadbent recalls seeing the film for the first time in the early 1970s as part of a Keaton season at London’s Academy Cinema. He praises the film’s sublime opening, its profound characterisation and Keaton’s nuanced performance.
