I’m sorry there’s not one of yours in there Mr Karloff, but someone else will vote for Bride of Frankenstein (James Whale, 1935), and I think Bela deserves a turn. In order that my humour-heavy ten is not entirely crammed with comedy, I’ve had to leave out brilliant stuff like The Bellboy (Jerry Lewis, 1960), The Court Jester (Norman Panama and Melvin Frank, 1955), Red Hot Riding Hood (Tex Avery, 1943) and Mon Oncle (Jacques Tati, 1958).
