My first thought was simply to go with silent films. Then I toyed with the idea of films with a political message, since it was thanks to film that I myself became a lifelong pacifist and antimilitarist. But after many sleepless nights (so difficult did I find this task), I knew that I wanted to embrace works from an entire century.
