It is very difficult to choose just ten films from the rich history of cinematic art. In my opinion, those selected here represent great artistic value and had a great impact on film history and filmmaking. Most of these films are very well known to the wider public, especially those interested in film history, but one of those chosen is not so – The Hourglass Sanatorium, directed by Jerzy Has and based on the works of Brunon Schultz. It’s a philosophical, mystical and poetic creation from the great artist of the Polish cinema. All these films have had an important impact on my personal view of cinema.
