Here’s my list of ten films that changed my own view of cinema and, of course, for me represent aestethic pinnacles of achievement. I chose them because of the strong memories I still have of them decades after the first time I saw each one, some in cinemas in my own city, others in cineclub screenings, and some in film festivals around the world. I remember the feelings I had, the places where I saw them and the number of times I saw them again and again. This list could also include another ten from the last ten years of good films, but I prefer to give my first choices to the loves of a lifetime. Ever since I was very young, these films made me believe in this artform – they are relevant to anyone interested in art and culture, unique and unforgetable.
